Why we are getting married in St Mawes

St Mawes is a special place to both of us as it is the first place we went on holiday together. We have been many times since and have lots of happy memories there already!

I have strong family connections with the village too. Members of my family have lived in the village since the 1300s. My great-great-grandfather started the ferry service between St Mawes and Falmouth that you may use when you visit! My grandparents owned and ran two shops in the village and played an active part in village life. My mother grew up in St Mawes and we spent most of our summer holidays there when I was a child.

The church in which we will be married is the church in which my parents were married and it is next door to the house where my Mum was born and lived in until she was 2.
